Highlight of the year


We’ve been busy sharpening our scissors for the Salon International 2011 campaign which kicks off this week. Salon International is the world’s most influential, inspirational and popular live event for the hairdressing industry and takes place from 15-17 October 2011 at ExCeL London.

We did a complete makeover for the event in 2008 to reflect the glamour, creativity, inspiration and style of the show, appealing to the event’s brand aware and image conscious audience.

Our work over the past few years builds on those original concepts, resulting in a sharp, sleek, head-turning campaign for 2011. This year we focused on strong, simple photographic art direction and colour palettes married to bold and witty headlines to complement the photography. It’s all been carried through to print ads, visitor brochure, targeted direct mail, posters, website, social media marketing, ticketing and signage at the event itself.

Nicola Lazenby, Salon International’s Acting Exhibition Manager, says: “60% of last year’s exhibitors re-booked for 2011 before the show even closed its doors – proof positive that Salon International keeps on delivering a great experience. We believe this is in part due to The Workroom’s ability to perfectly interpret our communications and the many facets of our event with a level of glamour that the world of hairdressing comes to expect.”
