The challenge

In November 2008, Haden Building Management, became Balfour Beatty WorkPlace (BBW). Our challenge was to develop a new brand identity, that while aligned with Balfour Beatty Group, stood out and clearly reflected the personality of BBW and its wide range of services.

The solution

Through a combination of research and management team workshops we were able to define a new set of Values for BBW and articulate its positioning as 'Freedom to Perform’. In turn this inspired the creation of new brand promise expressed as a strapline 'We work. You excel.’ This sets the tone for all communications.

To support this and to capture BBW’s breadth of service we created an inspiring brand toolkit of over 650 bespoke silhouette illustrations.

The result

  • 41% increase in revenue in first year - 20% more than predicted
  • Smashed year 2 revenue objective after first year
  • 116% rise in graduate applications
  • Happier client - downward trend of client satisfaction reversed
